I have your session booked and we are all looking forward to it. What's next? Here are some helpful hints on what to expect on the day of your session.

How long will the session take?
For the Family Session, please give yourself at least 2 hours total (less if I am meeting you at your home). If we are meeting at a park, you need time to find parking and find our meeting spot. The session will take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how cooperative the kids are that day. It's always best to give yourself extra time so no one is stressed at the session.
Newborn shoots take up to 2.5 hours depending on how many breaks the wee one needs for feeding and diaper changes. We work on their time! I take all the time we need to keep baby and mom happy and calm.
Maternity sessions typically take about one hour, but I keep the pace relaxed and flexible. The timing can vary depending on whether older siblings are joining, outfit changes, location, and the flow of the session.
There’s no need to rush—we’ll allow plenty of time for beautiful portraits as well as the natural moments in between.
Engagement photos can take about an hour. We will have a relaxed, beautiful session to celebrate the two of you and this exciting season before you say “I do.”
When will my photos be ready?
Your fully edited photos will be ready within three weeks of your session. After putting in your print order, give me an additional week. Additional time for canvas, metal prints and books.
What should I wear?
Comfort comes first. Especially with little ones, the more comfortable everyone feels, the more natural your photos will be. If someone needs a snack break or a little time to warm up, that’s completely okay.
Dress for the weather. Choose layers when temperatures are unpredictable rather than relying on a bulky jacket that may take over the photos, layers also look great for photos. We want everyone comfortable while still being able to see the personality and connection in your images.
Think coordinated, not matching. Your family doesn’t need to wear the same colors or identical outfits. A neutral palette with a few thoughtful touches of color photographs beautifully. Soft, earthy, and timeless tones tend to work especially well.
And most importantly, come as you are. The best images happen when everyone is comfortable, relaxed, and having fun together. Don’t worry about making everything perfect—that’s my job.

How do I pay you?
Please expect to pay $200 non-refundable booking fee up front in order for me to book your date. The remaining amount of your session will be expected the day of the shoot. I accept Cash app ($JessicaLDodd) and Venmo (@JessicaDodd).
What if I have to reschedule?
Life happens. Please get in touch as soon as possible, by email or text, if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel without a 48-hour notice or you do not show up, you will forfeit your $200 booking fee.
